The adjunctive therapies are incorporated as an integral aspect of the program.

Ongoing Therapist:

If you are a CranioSacral Therapist referring a client to a CTP, we invite you to accompany the client and participate in the program as their ongoing therapist.  Your history, role and participation will be respected in our team approach.
It is our hope to bring together all the talents of the therapists for the betterment of the client. The client provides the focal point for the various modalities and how they function, are experienced, perceived and understood.

The integrity of the program is based in the integrity of each of us and our ability to work together.  This program is client centered and focused.  It is focused on their experience, needs, perceptions, hopes, dreams, etc.

We are working with and within their lives facilitating their healing process, as ultimately or finally determined by their inner wisdom.

The initial therapist meeting held the evening prior to the client program requires the attendance of all therapists.  It covers introductions so that we may become acquainted with each other, our backgrounds, therapeutic modalities and intentions.

It also includes information about housekeeping, accommodations, daily schedule, therapeutic roles, basic principles, the initial presentation of client information and open time for questions, concerns and comments.

Each morning we will meet as a complete team with the clients. The Therapy Program Cooridnator will conduct this meeting, which is client focused. The first day, please keep your personal introduction to the clients brief; name, therapeutic background, designated modalities you will be providing in the program.  This is time for us to listen to the clients. In general, our intention is to be open and accepting of the client.

Subsequent morning meetings after a day of therapy:
Provide time and space for the client to let us know what they are experiencing, to ask questions, make requests, etc. Questions and feedback by the primary therapist from the previous day’s treatment. of the client will be moderated by the Therapy Team Coordinator.   Note: let us take more time listening to the client than commenting about them.

Questions may help support them in their process. At times it may be helpful to describe our intentions in the therapeutic process, i.e. melding, accessing their body wisdom, following their process, checking their significance detector. Please refrain from giving advice and explanations of their therapy.

Therapeutic boundries and respect for client is required. Since we will likely be with the clients during meals and have frequent interactions with them outside the designated therapeutic sessions, it is important that we do not initiate the client in therapeutic activities on their own time and that we realize our personal interactions with them may likely be perceived as part of the program.  We may effect their attitudes and relationship to the therapeutic process. For example, if they seek advice and feedback outside the therapeutic program, please ask them to bring their questions to group discussion or reserve them for their next therapeutic session.

After the day’s treatment primary therapists will meet with thier support therapists. They will review the sessions and charting.  Dynamics of the treatment group can also be reviewed and addressed.  (The primary therapist needs to decide what is important to bring to the meeting.)   This is a time to review the day.

The therapy day ends with a  therapy community meeting.  The primary therapist from each treatment group will relay to the therapeutic community the most significant aspects of the day’s therapy. (Any therapists who are accompanying a client need to be kept informed and primarily engaged in the process.)    We are all here to share and learn, and we are providing the opportunity for the support therapists to ask questions and receive additional support from the team as a whole, for their efforts. Note: We ask all to be as clear and concise as possible, as our time is limited. We ask that issues, observation and your compelling perceptions and experience be brought to the group and team meetings.

Each therapy community meeting includes time for each member  to comment or bring up anything that needs to be expressed, acknowledged or addressed so that we may continue to work well together. Personal issues between individual participtants need to addressed outside this large meeting. The essence of this therapy is the therapy itself, not what we have to say about it later.  These meetings are designed to help us more richly engage the client centered therapeutic process.

After our meeting you are free to do as you please.  The therapy room is usually available as a space to interact with one another, treat one another, share skills or just hang out.

On the last day, we will end with a closure meeting from 3:30pm to 4:30pm for therapists and clients.

It is important that all therapists are present for each full day.

                                       Essential Information for All Therapists

It is important that you are aware and accepting of Integrative Intentions' Mission and Intentenions.

We hold the work of Dr. John Upledger in high regard.

Our CTPs have origins in the "multi-hands" therapy developed by Dr. Upledger and the UI Intensive Therapy Programs.  These CTP's are affiliated with UII.

All of our therapists have received their CST education from the Upledger Institute.

We all share basic principles and practice, implicitly and explicitly developed by Dr. John Upledger, taught through the Upledger Institute and embodied by CST therapists.  And we are in harmony with the Credo and Goals of UII:

Our shared basis in CST keep us grounded in the science of life, with a central focus on the CranioSacral system, and the inherent intelligence or "Inner Physician"  that guides our therapeutic facilitation.

We relate to the CranioSacral System as a core structure with functions essential in the integrated health of the individual, body-soul-mind-spirit.  We find Upledger CranioSacral Therapy to be an integrative therapy that addresses this core and coordinates other therapies.

This common basis in Upledger CST  is essential in bringing and holding our community together in an inspired integration of intentions for healing in these client centered programs.
